Educational and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or GED certificate coupled with an associate’s degree. Candidates possessing one of these must have gained at least 5 years (7500 hours) of working experience leading projects within an 8 year period prior to applying to take the test. Documentation must be available which outlines the types of projects you have spearheaded, i.e., IT managed projects, major and minor construction jobs, marketing campaigns.  Additionally, you should have proof that you received at least 35 hours of education in project management from a recognized institution of higher learning.
 
Bachelor degree, MBA or equivalent. Certification eligibility is 3 years (4500 hours) of work experience as a project manager within a 3 year period prior to applying o take the exam.
